The Kentucky Coal Association, on behalf of the Kentucky Coal Council, has promoted awareness of the Coal Education Web Site through demonstrations at key educational conferences.  A schedule of conferences attended follows.  Brief conference descriptions with photos can be viewed below.

Kentucky Science Teacher's Association Annual Meeting
Fall '96
Lexington, Kentucky 1996

    The KSTA is an organization dedicated to the teaching of science at all levels (elementary through college).  The Kentucky Coal Marketing and Export Council through the Kentucky Coal Association teamed with the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME)'s educational division (GEM), the Kentucky Geological Survey, and the University of Kentucky's Mining Engineering Department to present resources in coal education available to Commonwealth educators.

Kentucky Education Technology Conference
Louisville, Kentucky 1997

The Kentucky Coal Association, in a joint project with the Kentucky Coal Council, provided a booth at the Kentucky Education Technology Conference '97 held March 7-8, 1997 in Louisville, Kentucky. We distributed coal samples, Coal Education Home Page informational handouts, and Kentucky Coal Facts 1995-1996 Pocket Guides to around 2,000 teachers.
